The California Water Plan Update 2013 aims to deepen and expand the relationships between State agencies and California Native American Tribes built during Update 2009, and thereby improve the overall quality and comprehensiveness of the plan. This includes establishing a Tribal Advisory Committee (Tribal AC).

In addition to joining the Tribal AC, tribal communities are encouraged to participate in regional and topic-based discussions, attend public and tribal advisory committee meetings and stay informed through the following options.

The California Water Plan maintains a voluntary subscription listserve to distribute Water Plan news and meeting announcements to members and staff of California Native American Tribes, and to share information of possible interest from the Department of Water Resources and other agencies. Draft Assumptions and Estimates Report – This report describes significant data, methods, and references that DWR plans to use to prepare CWP Update 2013. The Draft A&E brochure and companion web page are online at http://www.waterplan.water.ca.gov/cwpu2013/ae/.
